‘Cannot continue indefinitely’: Supreme Court extends TET deadline till August 2028

The Supreme Court mandated that in-service teachers must pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to continue their employment, extending the deadline to August 31, 2028. Dismissing review petitions, the bench emphasized the RTE Act’s intent for all teachers to meet minimum qualifications, prioritizing children’s educational future.
