J&K MBBS, BDS interns launch indefinite strike over low stipend, seek hike to Rs 30,000

MBBS and BDS interns in Jammu and Kashmir have begun an indefinite strike demanding a hike in their monthly stipend from Rs 12,300 to Rs 30,000. The interns cite rising living costs, extended hospital duties and disparities with other states. They are also seeking a written government assurance, while questioning delays in implementing earlier recommendations on stipend revision.
