Sergeant Willie Estrada’s family is urging for the highest military accolade, the Medal of Honor, in remembrance of his courageous sacrifice during the Korean War. Strikingly, he lost his life defending his tank crew near Bongowol, North Korea, in 1952. Honored posthumously with the Distinguished Service Cross, his loved ones are diligently working with legislators to officially document his remarkable legacy and heroism.
